Description:
A new bridge over the lake in The Lagoon, is a very important link for Sint Maarten. This new bridge provides an improved traffic from Princess Juliana International Airport towards the French side of St. Maarten and the large residential area Cole Bay. The project started in 2008 and would last to 2013. Volker Stevin Caribbean (VSC) as the main contractor was to carry out the project according to the Yellow Fidic contract, which is a Design & Construct project. WWR was the partner of VSC for this project.
WWR was responsible for the design, building and maintenance of the infrastructural work on the mainland. This includes to the access roads to the new bridge, two roundabouts, shore protection (by design VSC) and the asphalt coating on the bridge deck.
