On July 17, 2012, the documents were submitted for the tender for the project A-09 Rehabilitation Runway 10-28 for St. Maarten. The client for this project was the Princess Juliana International Operations Company NV (PJIAE) and Netherlands Airport Consultant BV (NACO BV). For this project WWR teamed up with other Janssen de Jong Company from the Janssen de Jong Caribbean group.
The work for this project consisted mainly of replacing the entire top layer, redoing the runway profile and finally laying the last topcoat. Two new taxiways were added, the lining of the runway and new LED lights were installed on the entire runway. PJIAE is the first in the Caribbean with full LED lighting.
